Rap beef turned personal? Man shot outside Drake’s Toronto home

In the midst of Drake and Kendrick Lamar volleying diss songs at each other, a man was shot outside of the Toronto rapper’s house on the morning of May 7.


Toronto police confirmed the shooting took place after 2 a.m., and a man was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and a suspect fled the shooting in a vehicle. A police source claims that the victim was a security guard and suffered a gunshot wound to the upper chest in the drive-by attack.. The shooting victim was taken to the hospital to undergo surgery.


It was not certain if Drake was at his home at the time of the shooting.

Drake and Lamar diss each other

Drake and Lamar have released songs almost daily at each other, The last one came from the Toronto rapper on May 5, titled “THE HEART PART 6.” Both artists have mentioned each other’s families, close friends and allegations of domestic violence and pedophilia.


Lamar’s recent diss song, “Not Like Us,” shows a Google Maps picture of Drake’s Bridle Path mansion as the cover art. It’s also not certain if the shooting is related to the back-and-forth between the artists.

Officers taped off an area on the street and will provide more details later on in the day.
