NBA’s Gilbert Arenas slams Rudy Gobert for missing game for newborn

Ex-NBA star Gilbert Arenas received severe criticism when he lambasted current player Rudy Gobert for taking off a playoff game to be at the birth of his newborn child.

Gobert was away from the Minnesota Timberwolves for Game 2 of the Western Conference playoffs in Denver. Nevertheless, the Wolves defeated the defending champion Denver Nuggets, 106-80, to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

The online trouncing of Arenas commenced immediately after he blurted out on his “Gil’s Arena” podcast, “It’s a baby, bro. It’s gonna be there when you get back.”

Fans slam Arenas for his insensitive remarks about Gobert

Fans mostly decried Arenas for excoriating Gobert for wanting to be present for the birth of his first child.

“Well, maybe some of us wanna watch a birth of their child and be actually a father,” one fan offered.

“Oh man, you HAVE to be there,” another said. “Watching your children come into this world is a touch of heaven. Also, you’re there to support your significant other. Basketball can wait.”

The rest of the respondents were not as kind to Arenas.

“Do not take advice from the dude who brought a gun in the locker room,” one of them said.

“Arenas would have brought a gun to the game and said F the baby,” another irate fan concurred.
