The recent celebrity roast of Tom Brady won’t live in its full awkward glory for eternity after all.
The editors at Netflix took mercy on reality TV star Kim Kardashian by editing out the round of boos she received on Sunday, May 5 when taking the stage to roast the NFL legend during the streaming giant’s live broadcast event and special, “The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady.”
Viewers of the live broadcast noticed in the version available to stream that a few seconds of jeers and taunts are edited out while the volume drops at other points in Kardashian’s three minute set.
“I know a lot of people make fun of your height,” the SKIMS founder began to address Brady while trying to power through the chorus of boos.
“All right, all right, all right,” she awkwardly pleaded acknowledging the feedback.
Eventually handling the barrage with poise, the 43-year-old entrepreneur got through her set with a wide range of jokes, including past rumors of her and Brady dating to poking fun at her former stepparent, Caitlyn Jenner, and even making wisecracks about her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr.
“Honestly, it’s hard for me to watch people roast you, but I think enough of my family members have helped defend former football players,” she teased in reference to her father being one of the lawyers that help O.J. Simpson win acquittal for the 1994 murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.
Kardashian ended her set with a piece of playful advice for Brady telling the seven-time Super Bowl champion, “I’m just here tonight to support you and celebrate you. I’ll give you the same advice I give all of my exes: good luck knowing the best is behind you.”
“The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady” is currently streaming on Netflix.
