Shedeur Sanders is tired of Colorado being slandered.
Recently, former backup quarterback Gavin Kuld did an interview with MAGDOGTV, a YouTube channel dedicated to talking about Colorado football. In the interview, Kuld said he had personal problems with Shedeur and their rift spilled over into the two no longer speaking to each other.
“CU was CU, and then CU became 2,” Kuld said in the interview.
He is referring to Shedeur, who wears the No. 2 and refers to himself as “2.”
“Every single school in the country’s talking about what they’re doing as a team, and who they’re bringing in for the team,” Kuld said. “Here, the talk was who they’re bringing in for two.”
Shedeur then took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to respond to Kuld.
“I learned sometimes you have to take the high road,” Shedeur posted on X. “[Kuld], I’ll spare you only this one time.
“Y’all just interview anyone that leave from Colorado just to get a negative look on the program.”
MAGDOGTV then uploaded another video where he essentially apologized for interviewing Kuld.
There are a few ways to look at the Colorado football situation. On one end, a team that went 4-8 having a lot of players leaving isn’t surprising at all for a program that wants to compete for a national championship the following season. Also, Colorado isn’t the normal college football team. They are coached by one of the greatest athletes to ever live in Deion Sanders, who also made a name for himself by shameless self promotion in a way that was quite unconventional before he did it. With the unusual football program with unusual coverage and The Rock giving a pregame locker room speech with a wireless microphone, come unusual exits from said program.
On the other hand, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. And many of the former Colorado players have echoed the same sentiments about the Buffaloes: It wasn’t about the team as much as it was about personal branding, and some former players took it a step further and said the program had its favorites to prioritize branding.
Regardless, Colorado is still currently the most talked about college football program right now, especially with Nick Saban retiring from the University of Alabama. One of the cover athletes on the highly-anticipated College Football 25 is Colorado cornerback and wide receiver Travis Hunter, who many fans would argue is the best player in the country. The game is set to release on July 19.

Colorado kicks off its next season, and its final with Shedeur, Hunter and Shilo Sanders, on Aug. 29 against North Dakota State.
