Diddy finally makes his first public statements days after the world recoiled in horror after he was captured on a hotel surveillance video pummeling and dragging ex-girlfriend Cassie.
CNN obtained a 2016 video from the now-defunct InterContinental Hotel in the upscale Century City neighborhood in Los Angeles shows Sean “Diddy” Combs chasing Cassie down at the elevators. He violently grabbed the back of her neck and threw her to the ground where he then kicked her twice. He also dragged her around the corner and later threw a vase at her.
After days of silence, Diddy emerged from hiding on his Instagram page to tell his 20 million followers that he is extremely regretful for his behavior.
After captioning his video, “I’m truly sorry,” the beleaguered Bad Boy boss addressed his fans.
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that,” Diddy said on Instagram. “I was f—ed up — I hit rock bottom — but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable.”
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office told the public they are “aware of the video” and that they “find the images extremely disturbing and difficult to watch. But they added they are unable to prosecute Diddy because “the conduct would have occurred beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted.”
Fans were merciless in renouncing Diddy and rejecting his apology. In fact, so many negative responses rained down on Diddy’s page that he eventually turned off the comments section.
