Slim Thug is incurring the wrath of Cassie fans despite issuing a mea culpa to the singer after surveillance footage proved that Diddy viciously beat her.
The Houston-bred rapper, who was born Stayve Jerome Thomas 43 years ago, was one of the loudest voices to renounce Cassie after she filed, then settled, her multimillion-dollar lawsuit against Diddy in November 2023. She accused her former boyfriend and boss of a trove of deviancy including rape, sexual assault, physical abuse, sex trafficking and rampant drug abuse.
Slim chastised Cassie for filing the legal documents as a money play and to besmirch the reputation of the Bad Boy boss who is worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
Slim Thug apologizes on his Instagram page
Now that the horrifying video of the beatdown of Cassie provides unequivocal substantiation, Slim returned to his Instagram page to tell his two million followers that he is going to “take that L.”
“I tried to ride with the Blk man who had no charges yet, but I can’t stand behind this. I’ll take this L,” he said. “But I still ride with my ppl until I see some sort of proof I don’t believe in blogs or civil suits.”
Cassie fans don’t want to hear Slim Thug’s apology
Cassie supporters, particularly women, threw that apology right back in Slim’s face. They were not in the mood to witness his contrition for speaking out against Cassie so forcefully six months ago.
“Make the apologies as loud as the disrespect,” a person wrote in the comments section. “You should do a video apologizing like you did blaming her,” opined a second one. “Sometimes it best to keep your opinions to yourself especially on matters like abuse.”
