Plies critical of Caitlin Clark’s game

Plies is one of the biggest basketball enthusiasts in hip-hop, which is not unusual since many rap stars are admirers of sports icons and vice-versa.

The 47-year-old emcee, whose real name is Algernod Lanier Washington, recently offered his personal take on the biggest name in the WNBA, rookie Caitlin Clark. He noted that while she is talented and worthy of the spotlight, he was nevertheless troubled by what he witnessed when he attended one of the Indiana Fever games.

“After watching Caitlin Clark, my takeaway,” he wrote speaking on X, saying that she needs to adjust her attitude.

“She has to buy in. She has to embrace the hand she’s been dealt and enjoy the journey. She seems very unhappy and disengaged.

Plies added that the talent and the bad attitude are both visible while she’s playing on the court.

“Elite passer, interested defensively and she’s saying to privilege.

The rapper then offered a word of advice: “Win over the locker room and lead!”

Plies danced with legendary women’s college coach Dawn Staley

This is not the first time that Plies has shared his basketball experience with his fans. Plies called it the biggest night of his career, for example, when head coach Dawn Staley of the national women’s basketball champions, the South Carolina Gamecocks, attended one of his concerts in May 2024.
