Cam’ron has now joined the ranks of rappers who have released diss tracks in 2024, a day after BIA released her diss track to Cardi B, responding to the superstar rapper’s verse on “Wanna Be (Remix).”
To open the June 3 show of “It Is What It Is,” Cam’ron freestyled over Black Rob’s “Whoa” to respond to a new Adidas commercial where Anthony Edwards mentioned him.
The shoe brand released the spot after Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves were eliminated by the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals. The concept of the commercial was Edwards getting shots up as his friend sat on the side and read to him people’s comments doubting him and his receipts. Cam’ron’s comment that was included in the montage was he thought Edwards was an All-Star, but not necessarily a superstar at this point of his career.
Edwards laughed after hearing the comment and put another shot up.
“F— buddy,” Edwards said.
“F— wrong with Ant Man?” Cam’ron rapped. “I gave him his props, homie got love from me. New commercial, y’all ain’t got love for me? He shot a jump shot and said, ‘F— buddy.’ The receipt reader looking like ya f— buddy. And trust buddy, I ain’t one to judge, buddy. Buddy sitting there, glazin’, like, ‘I love hubby…’
“[Dallas Mavericks guard] Kyrie Irving with this s—, don’t get crossed up. Shootas, pardon, that’s just my own thoughts. [Dallas Mavericks guard] Luka [Dončić]. I’ll send ya home on ya home court. Get him an Uber, I don’t know what y’all thought. Adidas, I’m blaming you, this is y’all fault…
“Y’all think y’all got the b-ball version of Kanye? Come on, stop it, Duke. Y’all just stopping through. He do something y’all don’t like, y’all drop him, too.
F—- careers up, T-Mac, Derrick Rose. John Wall, RGIII, let ’em know. Reggie Bush, Iman Shumpert, I’m on a roll. You know Kevin Ware? Google what was on his toes.”
Cam’ron also sent a shot CNN’s way after a controversial appearance on the network ignoring questions about Diddy and promoting his Pink Horse brand, which is about boasting male performance in the bedroom.
“We flushed pies when TNT was creepin’ in,” Cam’ron rapped. “I ducked the FBI, what I care about CNN? I put money on the house where you lay your head. Apologize, [CNN correspondent] Abby [Phillip] anything I may have said, but the play was already read. Get the Black woman and Black man to kill the Black man, who’s already dead. Wrong.”
He also mentioned Melyssa Ford, the former video vixen and current co-host of “The Joe Budden Podcast” she’s been going back-and-forth with in recent months as well. Ford previously accused Cam’ron of lewd behavior with women in the past.
"F*ck wrong with Antman?" Cam'ron spits over Black Rob's song "Whoa!" and takes a shot at Anthony Edwards for throwing shade at him in his new Adidas commercial.
