Why Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene refused to call Anthony Fauci ‘doctor’

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is back in the headlines for disparaging another person during a House hearing — and this time it was Dr. Anthony Fauci.

On June 3, things got heated during the House hearing as they discussed Dr. Fauci’s role during the COVID-19 pandemic. As the hearing went on, Greene began scolding Dr. Fauci.

“Mr. Fauci — because you’re not a doctor — you’re Mr. Fauci in my few minutes,” Greene said.

Dr. Fauci was trying to respond to Greene’s statements, but his microphone was not on. Rep. Jamie Raskin responded shortly after Greene’s comments, asking if she could ignore Fauci’s title as a doctor.

“Mr. Chairman, in terms of the rules of decorum, are we allowed to deny that a doctor is a doctor because we don’t want him to be a doctor?” Raskin said.

“Yes, because in my time that man does not deserve to have a license,” Greene said in response to Raskin. “As a matter of fact, it should be revoked, and he belongs in prison.”

This isn’t the first time Greene has disrespected someone; she insulted Rep. Jasmine Crockett during a House Oversight Committee session on May 16. Lawmakers were meeting to vote on hold Attorney General Mack Garland in contempt for refusing to give an audio recording of Joe Biden’s interview with special counsel Robert Hur.

A debate between the two women started.

“I don’t think you know what you’re here for. I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading,” Greene said to Crockett.

Several committee members interjected, with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez asking that Greene’s statement be stricken from the record and that she apologize. Greene agreed to the strike but not the apology. Crockett then asked for a clarification from the committee chair, Rep. James Comer.

“I’m just curious. If someone on this committee then started talking about somebody’s bleach blonde built butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?” Crockett said.

  1. This woman has done NOTHING for her state. Name just one thing she has done for the people in her state! She is ignorant of things going on in our country. Dr Fauci has dedicated his life to finding cures for diseases.
If you recall, Trump was the one downplaying Covid and telling the country to drink friggin bleach! WTF???

  2. Marjorie Taylor Greene is a disruption and a noise in the room. She needs to be dismissed. The only thing she can offer are insults and chaos.

  3. Marjorie is useless as a person. All she cares about is being the loudest one in the room and not accomplishing anything for her constituents. The man is a doctor so she knows she was being disrespectful and saying nothing please someone against this woman and get her out of office.

  4. So far, I’ve willingly consumed three COVID-vaccine injections and usually take the annual influenza vaccine because I basically believe the mainstream science behind them.

While the public verbal assaults against Dr. Anthony Fauci by U.S. congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) are inexcusable, I nevertheless feel the term ‘science’ gets used a bit too readily/frequently nowadays, including for political or self-serving purposes. Also, I’m cautious of blindly buying into (what I call) speculative science.

Due to increasingly common privatized research for corporate profit aims, sometimes even ‘science’ can be for sale.

Notably, questionable research results are sometimes publicly amplified if they favor the corporate product; and, conversely, accurate research results can be suppressed or ignored if they are unfavorable to business interests, even when involving human health.

Also, mega-corporation lobbyists — especially those representing the huge and very powerful/influential pharmaceutical industry — tend to pull corpocratically orientated Western governments [especially those of Canada and the U.S.] by the nose.

Once in power, established political parties will kowtow to big business’s threats of transferring or eliminating jobs and capital investment, thus economic stability, if corporate ‘requests’ aren’t accommodated.

In any event, such lobbyist manipulation does not belong in any government body, such as Health Canada or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, that was established to protect consumers’ safety and health rather than big businesses’ insatiable profit goals.

  5. What is wrong with Marjorie? She has no respect for anyone Marjorie. You know what’s going to happen to Marjorie, Karma is going to come and bite off a whole ass Marjorie
