Meagan Good is set to make her return to the big screen starring alongside Cory Hardrict in Tyler Perry’s latest film, Divorce in the Black.
The film, which marks the second of Perry’s four picture deal with Amazon, revolves around Ava (Good), a young professional enjoying her successful life and career whose world is rocked when her husband, Dallas (Hardrict), shocks her by ending their marriage. Ava sets out to win Dallas back but soon discovers that he has secrets that can not only permanently endanger their marriage but also ruin her chances of finding real love again.
“Making Divorce in the Black was born out of wanting to tell Ava’s story,” Perry says. “She is surrounded by all this power through her foundation — her family and friends. She has all the power inside of her but that power is somehow lost in her marriage. So it was important for her character to find her way, to show that journey back to her power.”
Also starring veterans Debbi Morgan and Richard Lawson along with Art Newkirk, Joseph Lee Anderson, Shannon Wallace and Taylor Polidore, Divorce in the Black will premiere on Prime Video on July 11.
